Warsaw Ski Day, The Last Day of the Year and Birthdays

Today is my birthday.  And guess what we did today?  We took Miss H for her first ski lesson. In Warsaw.

I know that sounds funny, first because it is my birthday, and shouldn’t I be at the spa or something like that?   And second, because Warsaw is flat, isn’t it?

I planned it that way since we had the morning free, and I wanted to go with her before she starts her ski lessons with the school next week.

IMG_5196  I’m so glad I did.  It was a perfect outing for my birthday. There is a little recreational hill here, Szczesliwicka which is in the Ochota area of the city and is great for kids (and the occasional adult like myself) learning to ski.

The fees for the lesson, entrance fee and equipment rental were quite reasonable.  Take cash if you go though.  We found out the hard way they did not accept cards and had to make a bank run after the lesson.

Anyway, it was great to get some fresh air and it even snowed a bit this morning.  Then we had some good pizza and hot chocolate at the cozy restaurant overlooking the ‘slope’.

There is not more I could have asked for from the last day of the year and my birthday…

— Try Something New

— Get Outside

— Move

— Play

Wow, I guess I have my intentions set for 2015!

  1. I love this! And love your attitude! Reminder to myself: it’s not about spa and champagne, it’s about the important things in life, such as kids, love, fresh air, sport, new experiences. Well done you!

    1. Thanks Adi! Don’t get me wrong…of course I would love/need a spa day break as must as the next gal but the other stuff is what keeps me going:) Happy New Year!
